slideViewerPro is a totally customizable jQuery image gallery plugin.

It is derived from the popular slideViewer plugin & offering more features.

The gallery is created from an unordered list with any number of images.

The look & feel can be customized via CSS and from the settings of the plugin like the borders, colors, etc.

Gaya Design is featuring a very nice tutorial (with source) on creating an image slider with a progress bar.

The slider uses the powerful jQuery Cycle plugin (see WRD post) which can rotate images with various effects.

The progress bar is created automatically to reflect the number of images that wi,ll be displayed.

Besides the look & feel of the slider, variables like speed of the slideshow & transitions can be set too.

Here are several examples provided to better findout how it functions.

Floom is a MooTools slideshow plugin that can present images & their captions beautifully.

It displays them with a blind-effect & a chic loader that shows when the next image will be shown.

The plugin has various options like:

• defining the number of blinds between transitions
• slideshow interval
• loader on/off
• captions on/off

To mention, Floom is not a complicated script, rather, it is a lightweight (4kb compressed) one with very few features (just auto-slides images) which is sometimes "what is needed".

The plugin uses unordered lists & converts them by offering lots of options for a better customization.

CU3ER is a free Flash 3D image viewer that can even amaze the users who don’t prefer to use Flash.

It is an easy-to-use slider which can be customized via XML & offers beautiful 3D transitions.

Images can be viewed with the auto-slideshow feature where 2 different types of preloaders can be selected or using the prev-next buttons.

The core of the slider, transitions, can be configured in many ways too. The number of slices, animation direction, duration, delays, colors & more can all be customized.

And, optionally, it is possible to display a description box for each image.

CU3ER is very well-documented and can be used freely in both free & commercial websites.

There are beautiful free image gallery applications (check Galleries category) around but it is hard to find ones that are compatible with iPhones.

Jaipho is a free JavaScript image gallery application that is optimized for iPhone.

It works very similar to the "Photos" application & can display images:

• as a slideshow
• with prev-next buttons
• using finger gestures

And, it has companion named Pipho which is the PHP-powered dynamic version.

Pipho can read photos from a desired folder, creates resized thumbnails, slide images & generates Jaipho JavaScript code automatically.

jQuery (mb)Gallery is a jQuery plugin for creating image galleries with a slideshow feature.

It is possible to present the galleries in any way wanted & adding a link to display them in the main gallery viewer.

The plugin has an inline thumbnail browser which is great to easily switch between images.

It offers multiple parameters for an easy customization like:

• width, height & colors
• auto-starting from a pre-defined image
• auto-sliding to be on/off
• timings between each slides
• & more..

WebSlide is a free & JavaScript-based application for displaying/presenting images easily.

Mostly, it is built for viewing website design mockups which is very handy for freelancers & web agencies.

Slides can be switched with the help of a navigation bar or by keyboard. The navigation bar can also display any other information about the content displayed.

Images can be zoomed in/out & moved by drag’n drops. Optionally, presentations can be protected with passwords.

WebSlide does not have any server-side requirements & can be installed in minutes.

Plogger is an open source image gallery application, built with PHP-MySQL, that offers a simple usage with powerful features.

The application comes with an attractive admin interface for managing the galleries & can be integrated into any website by adding three lines of PHP code.

Using Plogger, it is possible to create unlimited albums that can include unlimited images. And, uploading the images is a breeze as they can be sent one at a time or as a .zip file in bulk.

Thumbnails are created automatically & there is caching support for faster loading.
